Connecting the Trividia True Metrix Air Glucose Meter to Allie on Android

Background

Allie features Bluetooth integration with the Trividia True Metrix Air glucometer. This guide provides best practices to ensure seamless transfer of blood glucose data from the monitor to the Android application.

In order to pair the device, please make sure you have done the following during the installation process, completing all of the following:

• Given Allie access to Bluetooth
• Allowed Notifications from Allie
• Turned Bluetooth ON for your phone

Note: If you have previously used the True Manager application, you will also need to delete that application from your phone. Then go to your Bluetooth settings and "Forget" the previously connected device. We also recommend restarting your phone before proceeding with the pairing.

For best results, we recommend making sure that you are using the most recent versions of Allie and that your phone's operating system is up to date. More information on checking your settings/updating Allie can be found here.

You will also need to make sure you see an option for "Glucose Levels" in Allie. If you do not see this option, please with your technician or Healthcare Provider to make sure that have set you up correctly

We recommend making sure the True Metrix date and time are set before proceeding with pairing for the first time.

Pairing Contour BGM with Allie App

1. To get started, please set the date and time for your Trivideia True Metrix Air.
2. Now make sure it is turned off. If it is on, hold the circle button at the top down until it beeps and the screen goes blank. 
3. Go to "Settings" in Allie at the bottom right corner
4. Select "Connected Devices"
   
5. Then choose "Blood Glucose Meters / CGM"
   
6. Select the "True Metrix Air" 
   
7. This will take you to Step 1 - Make sure your meter is close to your phone
   
8. Tap "Continue" to be brought to Step 2 - Turn on your meter by pressing the middle (dot) button on the top of the meter
   
   
9. Press the button on the top to turn the True Metrix Air on. If you have used it before, it will display your average readings in the past
   
10. Select Continue to be brought to Step 3 The bluetooth symbol should appear automatically on your device display
    
11. Tap "Continue" to be brought to Step 4 Locate the last 6 digits of the meter serial number located on the back
    
12. Find the numbers and tap "Continue" in Allie and you will see a "Pairing request" from your phone. Choose  "Pair & Connect", enter the last 6 digits from the back of the True Metrix Air, and then tap "OK"
    
13. After a few seconds you should see the "Success" screen in Allie. Tap "Done" to leave the pairing process.
    

This will return you to the "Connected Devices" screen. You should see the "True Metrix", as well as text that reads "Sync completed just now" or "Connected".

Uploading Blood Glucose Readings to Allie

Now that the True Metrix Air is paired with Allie, your future readings will be automatically sent to Allie. They will then be visible for your healthcare provider.

To upload a reading:

1. Insert a strip into the True Metrix Air. You should then see this screen indicating it is waiting for you to take a reading:
   
2. Apply some blood to the the edge of strip. Make sure that the blood fills the intake section in the middle all the way, otherwise you will likely get an E2 error message and will need to try again
3. When the device starts to analyze your reading, it will show you lines across the middle of the screen
   
4. Your current Blood Glucose will then be displayed. If you have enabled the "Event" (or context) option, you'll see all of the available icons above the reading
   
5. Use the left arrow on top of the True Metrix Air to select the appropriate context, then tap the middle button on the top to save the context to the reading
   
6. The reading is now saved to your True Metrix Air. You can tap the button in the front middle to release the strip and the screen will turn off
7. Turn the True Metrix Air back on using the power button at the top. You will see a "Glucose Levels Logged" animation confirming your reading was received
   
8. Note: If you do NOT have events/context enabled in the True Metrix Air, you will be prompted to enter the context in Allie once the reading synchronizes
   
9. This reading will now be visible in Allie and the "Due" Task will be removed from the timeline. If your completed Tasks are collapsed, press the arrow to expand the section
10. You should then see the reading with a "Bluetooth" symbol (indicating it was sent via Bluetooth), and a check-mark (indicating it is a completed task for the day)
    

The values and context in Allie should match the reading from your Guide. You will also see the "Bluetooth" symbol indicating it was sent via Bluetooth. If this is a required task for the day, there will be a check mark next to the reading. 

Once the reading is saved, the measurement will be available shortly for your healthcare provider to review as needed.

If you are only expected to check your glucose once a day, you will not see any more blood pressure tasks for the day. However, if you take another blood glucose measurement, the new readings will be added to the "Completed" section.
